PHOENIX – May 8, 2016 – On May 20th from 6-9 p.m., North Central shopping favorite Frances is celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary with festivities and a focus on the community that helped build it.
Back in 2006, Georganne Bryant opened her downtown Phoenix boutique with an eclectic mix of thrift store finds and her favorite home and fashion picks — and named her store after her grandmother, Frances. Her curated selection of cool stuff with a focus on local artists and vendors stood out among the strip mall chains.
Ten years later, Frances has become a local treasure that wins local “best” contests year in and year out…but not without the help of a loyal base of artists, customers, and neighbors.
To that end, Frances is using it’s 10th anniversary as an opportunity to focus attention on one of the artists that has been a part of the Frances family from the beginning, Keri Mosier and Mer*Made Jewelry.
Mosier and her husband Paul recently learned that their 7-year old daughter, Harmony, has a childhood cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma and has started the arduous and expensive fight. The Frances 10th anniversary event will raise funds to help the Mosiers care for their daughter.
On May 20th, Frances will sell limited-edition 10th anniversary canvas bags for $10 with all proceeds going to the Mosiers. For one night only, fill your bag with Frances merchandise and receive 20% off your entire purchase.
Frances will also sell raffle tickets for $1 a piece. Apply the ticket for a chance to win one of over 50 items donated from local artists, vendors and businesses like Cibo and Urban Cookies. 100% of donations collected will go to the Mosier family.
Also at the event:
-Music by local band The Tongue Darts: Legends in low budget party rock
-Food trucks from Short Leash and Shanny’s Frozen Bananas
-Cookies from Kim’s Cookie Cottage & Refreshments
